Gems Sensors and Controls announces the opening of new medical processing area

Plainville CT, January 17, 2012: Gems Sensors & Controls (Gems®), a global manufacturer of customized, application-engineered sensors, controls, solenoid valves and subassemblies announces the opening of a 4,000 sq. ft. Medical Processing Area at its Plainville, CT headquarters. The additional space is part of a recent expansion which was completed in October 2011 adding 20,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space to the facility.

Gems has experienced continued growth over the past ten years particularly in the medical industry. The new addition will allow the company to improve manufacturing layouts providing better material/product workflow to address the specific needs of customers in the medical industry and safer working areas for employees. The additional space will also allow Gems to expand it’s workforce as sales continue to grow.

Gems has served the medical industry for more than 20 years providing ISO13485 certified products for the specialized fluid control and handling requirements of the medical device, diagnostic, life science, and biotechnology market segments.
