PosCon 3D wins the MessTec & Sensor Masters Award 2015

Baumer: And the winner is: PosCon 3D from Baumer! This was the most exciting announcement last week when this year's MessTec & Sensor Masters Award was presented by the trade magazine "messtec drives Automation“ to the winner in the "sensor technology" category. PosCon 3D is the only sensor in its class that combines features previously only found in costly laser measuring systems in a compact sensor, which is also easy to operate via an intuitive touch display. The sensor does not require any software, reflectors or output equipment that need to be installed externally and measures reliably regardless of the color or surface finish of the objects. Not even an upward movement, like radial runout in conveyor belts, affects the measurement result. Another highlight is the possibility to mount the sensor on the object at an angle of up to +-30 degrees; any arising angular errors are directly corrected in the sensor. Thanks to Baumer qTarget, the optical axis is aligned by design with the mounted holes. This allows correct sensor positioning directly in CAD, making subsequent sensor mounting in the application free of further aiming effort.
