Update Offers Fieldbus Integration and Enhanced Diagnostics
Firmware update for Turck's TBEN-Lx-SE-M2 managed Ethernet switch significantly increases the range of functions
Mülheim, October 30, 2024 – The latest firmware update now allows Turck's TBEN-Lx-SE-M2 managed Ethernet switches to be fully integrated in typical engineering applications. This enables the use of robust IP67 modules as active stations in fieldbus networks such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP, and also allows extensive network diagnostics.
Seamless integration into existing fieldbus networks gives users a comprehensive insight into their network and its components, which also enables predictive maintenance. The redundancy mechanisms of the switches, such as MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol), DLR (Device Level Ring) and RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol), enable a further increase in network availability and security. Functions such as topology-based commissioning also simplify device replacement and increase efficiency.
The TBEN-Lx-SE-M2 switches are designed for use in decentralized installations outside the control cabinet. With two high-speed backbone ports (1 Gbits) and eight standard ports (100 Mbits), the managed switches enable secure and efficient industrial networking.
