Reading of Pharmacodes now possible
Leuze electronic: In addition to Data Matrix codes and the most important 1D barcodes, the new device software now enables the reading of Pharmacodes for the LSIS 400i Smart Camera from Leuze electronic.
Pharmacodes are used in the packaging industry to check the varietal purity of pharmaceutical products. Reading and comparing with a stored reference code occurs in real-time with the immediate output of the comparison result via a digital switching output. The reading of such fast-moving labels is a big challenge for smart cameras.
The LSIS 422i and LSIS 462i Smart Cameras from Leuze electronic reliably master this task and offer all of the advantages of the LSIS 400 series, such as the practical Web-based configuration with a standard browser. Up to 99 2D Data Matrix codes or barcodes are read simultaneously on each image. As a result, they can be used anywhere various labels need to be detected and evaluated at high speed.
Both the very short minimal exposure time of just 54 µs as well as the device software contribute decisively to the performance. The user can, for example, read even inverse 2D codes. He can also adjust the sensitivity to the given application and specify quality criteria that must be maintained. In this way, the LSIS 422i and LSIS 462i Smart Cameras ensure not only high reading speed, but also a high level of reliability.
