Onshore – Wind turbines with optimized temperature control

Before a re-start, after an operational shut down, the especially designed Metallux AG resistors are responsible for optimal temperature control of the power electronics by Converteam for the onshore-wind turbines.

A complex system of temperature sensors controls at all times the actual operating conditions and ensures that all electronic components are operating at temperatures ≤0°C. During non-operational periods the aggregates can cool down to well below freezing point.

Before restart of the plant, the specially designed Metallux AG resistors take care to ensure an optimal temperature of the IGBT-module. Also during operation – depending on power demand –conditions can occur, which might necessitate again a heat input. Deployed are Metallux – power- resistors in wire technology, preferably resistors from the PWR-S series. These top – quality materials, coupled with protection grade IP 55, guarantee not only safe operation but also fulfill the high expectation of a long life cycle.
