The new high-wattage Mean Well RST-5000 series

PEWATRON: To meet industrial demand for more power, PEWATRON has launched the new Mean Well single-output 5000W RST-5000 Series. This enclosed power supply with PFC and parallel function is Mean Well’s follow-up to its successful 1000W to 3000W high-wattage industrial power supplies. This series accepts three-phase input from 196 VAC to 305 VAC or 340 VAC to 550 VAC, and up to three units can be connected in parallel for up to 15,000W of current sharing. In short, this power supply is tailor-made for your heavy-duty industrial needs.

The RST-5000 Series delivers outputs of 24 VDC and 48 VDC, the most frequently used DC voltages in an industrial setting. The unit features two overload protection mechanisms: a continuous constant current limiting mode and a constant current limiting mode. This features a delay shutdown of 5 seconds for particularly demanding loads such as inductive load, capacitive load, battery charging, and more. For additional flexibility the output voltage can be adjusted to 20% to 120% of the rated voltage with an external programming voltage ranging between 1 VDC and 6 VDC, and the output current adjusted to 20% to 100% of the rated current with an external control voltage ranging between 1 VDC and 5 VDC. Other features include short-circuit, overvoltage and over-temperature protection, forced air cooling, a fan speed control function and alarm signal outputs for AC fail, DC OK, fan fail and OTP.

The series complies with UL, CUL, TUV, CB, and CE regulations for maximum safety. The power supply boasts a high operating efficiency of up to 91% and full-load operation in temperatures up to 50°C thanks to the built-in fan. Applications include automation equipment, industrial control equipment, laser engravers, telecommunication systems and all systems requiring high operating power.
