Gemini dual axis MEMS Accelerometer

Pewatron: Silicon Sensing’s new Gemini family provides excellent bias repeatability in a hermetically sealed LCC package for outstanding temperature and humidity resistance as well as full environmental protection. The performance is achieved by a pair of orthogonal sprung masses which provide the moving plate of a variable capacitor, formed by an array of interlaced fingers.

Both Analog and digital SPI outputs are provided.

The small size, 10.4 x 6.0 x 2.2mm, and low power required for Gemini means that the range of applications opens up even further. Using only 3 mA from a 3.3 V supply it can be used in battery powered systems where previously an accelerometer of this quality has not been available.

Gemini is available in a number of different dynamic ranges from +/-0.85 g up to +/-96 g, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications such as borehole surveying, antenna stabilisation, levelling construction equipment, robotics and unmanned vehicles.
