New Surface Mount MEMS Accelerometers from ETLG
ETLG Inertial Aerosystems has launched two new Micro Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) Accelerometers in the UK.
Its analogue and digital variants are suitable for a wide range of deployments.
Their supplier is pleased to have achieved high production yields, and ETLG Inertial Aerosystems can assure customers of stable pricing compared to previous models.
About the Accelerometers
The two new MEMS accelerometers have model numbers of 1521 (analogue) and 1410 (digital).
They are suitable for uses in measuring:
- Energy drilling tools
- Vibration
- Tilt
- Seismic events
- Unmanned vehicles
Both units are available as LCC and JLCC packages with full scale ranges from +/-2g to +/-200g.
The 1521 offers:
- One-year bias stability of 1000ppm
- Low noise (5µg/√Hz 2g range)
- Internal temperature sensor for characterisation of bias and scale factor
- Short term operating temperature up to 175 degrees Celsius
- Shock resistance to 4000g
Both provide users with superior stability and repeatability when compared to the models they replace. The are both 8mm square surface mount devices (SMDs).
The new devices were designed by Silicon Designs, a MEMS accelerometer manufacturer. The company is based in Kirkland, WA in the USA.
ETLG Inertial Aerosystems can acquire stock for fast shipping.
Replacements
In response to the launch, ETLG Inertial Aerosystems is phasing out the previous hardware: models 1010, 1210 and 1221.
The new MEMS accelerometers are form, fit and function drop-in replacements for the three older devices. Due to high accuracy and efficiency in production, ETLG Inertial Aerosystems does not anticipate a large change in pricing.
