Bar code reader with blue light
Leuze electronic: The new BCL 600i product line from Leuze electronic operates with blue laser light and achieves astonishing read results with it.
With its blue laser diode, the BCL 600i achieves a depth of field that is 50% sharper than readers with red light laser. Altogether, this provides unbeatable advantages when reading codes with a very small modulus width (bar width) up to 0.35 mm. Usually focus adjustment or laser diode switching is necessary for this. Not so with the BCL 600i. Its fixed focal length makes it a very attractively priced reader. Blue laser diodes, which had earlier been so expensive, have become much more economical because of their varied range of applications, e.g. in Blu-ray players – and this also positively affects the BCL 600i price.
The new BCL 600i series adopts the functional diversity of the established BCL 500i scanner. Thus, there are also more device types (line and oscillating mirror scanners), various optics (M, F), integrated fieldbus interfaces (PROFINET, Ethernet TCP/IP) and the multiScan mode – a combination of devices consolidating all scanners to one logical scanner for the PLC. The browser-based configuration via webConfig, the reference code comparison, the AutoConfig function and code fragment technology round out the functional diversity of the BCL 600i devices. Furthermore, they can also be used for omnidirectional code reading in MSPi (Modular Scanner Portals) systems.
