New generation of operator terminals PMI 509 and 515 with enhanced processors – Higher performance for diagnostics and visualisation

KG: Higher performance and extended memory capacity thanks to enhanced 600 MHz RISC OMAP processors and high-contrast displays: These are the features of the new generation of Pilz operator terminals PMI (Pilz Machine Interface). The diagnostic units are now available in display sizes from 3.5" and with 5.7" screen diagonal. In conjunction with safe control technology from Pilz, they provide effective visualisation and troubleshooting support when production faults occur.

The operator terminals PMImicro diag are used for diagnostics and visualisation on plant and machinery in conjunction with the programmable control systems PSS, the safe bus systems SafetyBUS p and the configurable control systems PNOZmulti / PNOZmulti Mini. Compact, easy to operate and with an Ethernet interface, Pilz PMI devices offer the full functionality of the diagnostic concept PVIS.

Professional diagnostics as concept
The Pilz PVIS diagnostic concept is factory-integrated and takes into consideration the requirements of both manufacturers and operators: On the one hand you have simple programming with minimum effort, while on the other hand you have clear, plain-text diagnostic messages, output on a high-quality, colour TFT display. As a result, diagnostics are easy to implement.

On the configurable safety system PNOZmulti, the user can transfer all the pre-defined diagnostic messages to the PNOZmulti Configurator with a click of the mouse. With the PSS control systems, the diagnostic messages can be inserted directly via the PSS WIN-PRO configuration software. These pre-defined diagnostic texts can be adapted to suit the application or can be completely reformulated. A rapid restart of plant and machinery is guaranteed thanks to specific, plain-text error descriptions, step-by-step solution proposals, definition of responsibilities and clear information on error location. Operation is either via touchscreen/keys on the PMI 509 or via the touchscreen on the PMI 515.

Easy conversion
When you switch to the new generation of operator terminals, existing applications can simply be transferred over. All display sizes and feature options are available in conjunction with the PMI product ranges PMIopen and PMIvisu.
