Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015

Balluff: One of the most coveted design prizes goes to the Industrial RFID Read/Write Head from Balluff. It received the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015. The international jury was impressed by its high design quality and successful styling. Designers and manufacturers from 56 countries had submitted a total of 4925 designs for the renowned product competition.

The new BIS VM RFID read/write head is installed in transfer systems whose task it is to ensure that the right product is always in the right place at the right time. This challenge is met with RFID systems which record the production sequence with all its steps and batches while the process runs.

The new BIS VM read/write head is designed so that no additional holders are needed and installation directly on metal with no clear zone is possible. Securely packaged in a metal housing and featuring IP 67 protection, it can be used in harsh industrial environments. The LEDs visible from any angle enable direct status monitoring right where the action is.
