Baumer at drinktec: Process sensors for maximum resource efficiency

17 September 2025

drinktec visitors can see for themselves how award-winning sensor solutions by Baumer increase efficiency in process automation - and why Baumer has been recognized as a leading company in process sensor technology. At the world's leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry in Munich, Germany, Baumer will be showcasing new, smart solutions for applications ranging from tank storage to packaging.

Performance sensors reduce consumption

In the areas of CIP and heat exchangers, for example, Baumer sensor solutions can noticeably reduce energy and media consumption with their highly accurate measured values and short response times. For cleaning-in-place, Baumer offers hygienic sensors that precisely and quickly measure parameters such as conductivity, flow rate, temperature, fill level and pressure. The PAC50 conductivity sensor from the new 50 series will also be demonstrating its strengths at drinktec: high performance in a very compact design. This makes the PAC50 ideal for use in small production facilities, where it helps to save time, energy, cleaning agents and water. Its high temperature robustness up to 140 degrees Celsius enables long-term, reliable use in CIP systems. The 50 series stands for high performance, compact sensor design and a simple operating concept. It includes the proven PAC50 process sensors (conductivity) and the new PT55 (temperature) and PP56 (pressure).

Clever solutions for inventory management

An increasing number of product variants and short-term changes in demand require a high degree of flexibility. Baumer will be presenting smart sensor solutions for storage tanks at drinktec, for example for pressure measurement, foam detection or temperature measurement. Baumer uses level detection to illustrate how beverage producers can efficiently control processes with frequent media changes or adhesions. The intelligent CleverLevel point level sensor detects different media - sticky, pasty or solid - even in rapid changeover without parameterization.

Pump protection by reliably detected gas bubbles

At drinktec, the unique PAD20 bubble sensor will be demonstrating how it protects pumps from running dry and also enables the full use of container contents for maximum resource utilization. The compact analysis sensor detects even the smallest air and gas bubbles in liquid media quickly and reliably. The signal can be used to switch off the pump or to indicate a necessary container change with pinpoint accuracy.

Simple integration and commissioning of multicode readers

The IDC multicode reader series is ideal for simple code and text reading in packaging processes. The compact IDC230 and IDC200 models are characterized by easy handling and commissioning via web interface. Unlike most comparable code and text readers, no special software is required to set it up. This also eliminates the need for time-consuming installation approvals by the internal IT department.

A visit to the Baumer stand with its sophisticated sensor solutions provides the best answer to the question of why Baumer was recently recognized as a leading company in process sensor technology by the consulting and market research company Frost & Sullivan.
