Bourns Announces High Wattage, Surface Mount TVS Diodes for ESD/EFT/Surge Protection
RIVERSIDE, Calif., September 26, 2016 - Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, today announced a new high wattage, surface mount TVS diode series designed for ESD, EFT and surge protection. Bourns' Model 5.0SMDJ TVS diode series answers communications, industrial control and automation, and power supply market needs for increasingly higher power density circuit protection components in more compact packages. The new series supports power wattage up to 5000 watts that helps ensure DC power port and communication lines are well protected against overvoltage transients. They also offer superior line voltage clamping as compared to the performance of competing metal oxide varistor (MOV) technologies.
These unidirectional/bidirectional protection devices feature breakdown voltage from 12 to 170 volts. In addition, Bourns' Model 5.0SMDJ TVS diode series assists compliance with IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (Min. Level 4), IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 Surge industry standards.
Available now, Bourns' Model 5.0SMDJ series is RoHS compliant* and halogen free**. As a pricing reference, Model 5.0SMDJxxA/5.0SMDJxxCA is priced at $0.99 each in 6,000 piece quantities.
