Brief Analysis 2019 and Outlook 2020
SENSOR+TEST: International Visitors at Record Level, New Conferences and New Halls in 2020
SENSOR+TEST: This year the SENSOR+TEST has again shown that it is the worldwide leading fair for sensor, measuring, and testing technology. Not only did the share of international exhibitors reach approximately 40% anew, but significantly more than 30% of the visitors from abroad found their way to Nuremberg – and thus set a new record. The upcoming event will not only take place in new halls, but will also provide a top notch program. The brief analysis of the SENSOR+TEST 2019 with all the important key figures and results are ready for download..
The SENSOR+TEST 2019 recorded 538 exhibitors (591 the previous year), a slight decrease. Nevertheless, the share of international enterprises remained at a very high level with approximately 40%. The overall number of visitors to the trade fair, however, 6,873 (7,879 the previous year), was to a great extent due to the hot weather during the three days of the fair. Seen from an international perspective, the show with a share of 34% international visitors, was a complete success. This was confirmed by Holger Bödeker, the AMA Service managing director, who stated, “Never before have so many international visitors found their way to the SENSOR+TEST. Such a positive development wasn’t able to compensate for the number of domestic visitors, but it does demonstrate the growing international importance of our trade fair.”
The majority of the exhibitors also proved to be very satisfied with the fair: “We had lots of very good and very concrete talks. Even if we had less visitors overall, this had no effect on the quality and depth of our discussions,” said Christoph Kleye, the head of Pewatron Deutschland GmbH and chair of the Exhibitor Board. The satisfaction of the exhibitors was also shown by the great demand for floor space for 2020. The early-bird booking phase has already started, and those who want a favorite spot should make their reservations soon.
SENSOR+TEST 2020 – Two International Conferences on the Highest Level
The international technical fair SMSI 2020 – Sensor and Measurement Science International (www.smsi-conference.com) will take place next year for the first time parallel to the trade fair (22 – 25 June 2020) and will offer a platform for the latest research results. “The SMSI brings together scientists and researchers from all relevant areas and ensures suppliers as well as users well-founded insights in future-oriented research results,” says Holger Bödeker about the new format, putting measuring technology and sensors for Industry 4.0 into focus.
And for the fourth time now, the European Society of Telemetry die European Test and Telemetry Conference – ettc2020 (www.ettc2020.org) is to be held in cooperation with the SENSOR+TEST. The ettc2020 – with its conference and accompanying exhibition in Hall 2 – is the European platform for telemetrics, test instrumentation, and telecontrol.
Future Oriented Special Topic and a New Hall
Downtime for machines and systems is something no enterprise can use in the future. Therefore it is paramount to reduce downtime to a bare minimum. An effective way to do that is continuous condition monitoring. The task is to stop an industrial plant according to plan at a desired time and then to restart it smoothly to save time and costs.
Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance thus play an essential role in any kind of maintenance or service strategy. The special topic Sensor and Measuring Technology for Condition Monitoring emphasizes the importance of advance condition monitoring as well as sensor and measuring technology at the SENSOR+TEST 2020 as the crucial key technologies for the digitalization of technical process in diverse branches of industry and areas of application.
The next SENSOR+TEST will take place from 23 to 25 June 2020 as always at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, now in Halls 1, 2, and 3C. The new, state-of-the-art Hall 3C promises a better layout plan for the stands and greater efficiency for visitors and exhibitors.
