Clamping force sensor for cable car and ski lift

Magtrol SA, Switzerland, specialist in force measurement, presents a new range of force sensors enabling the check and control the clamping force cabin on ropeway as well as emergency brake forces.

Based on strain gauges technology, the SK-01 sensor is measuring the force along the clamping distance and not only on a single point. It is easy to install and suitable for outdoor use (stainless steel construction). The sensor, which has 1% of accuracy, can also be delivered with accessories such as amplifier and specific display.

This sensor is available in two different ranges: one for ropes of diameter 20 to 38 mm for forces up to 300 kN, the other for ropes of diameter 40 to 60 mm for forces up to 400 kN. The adaptation to the specific rope diameter is made by mean of shells surrounding the sensor body. Thanks to its flexibility and competencies, Magtrol is able to offer specific customized design, in both, dimension and forces.
