Cognex Set to Introduce the Newest "Laser Killer" in January 2013
Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ: CGNX), who introduced the award-winning DataMan® 500 image-based barcode reader in January 2011 and the innovative DataMan 300 series in January 2012, is set to unveil its latest barcode scanning technology in January 2013. Cognex image-based readers achieve the highest read rates, offer visual performance feedback and have higher reliability than laser scanners currently in use in the logistics, postal and retail distribution markets.
"This new product is sure to make an impact and we are excited to introduce it,” said Carl Gerst, Vice President and Business Unit Manager, ID Products. “We listened to the feedback logistics customers were providing. They wanted the benefits of image-based readers—especially the high read rates, reliability and real-time image feedback—for more complex applications. With this, we created a product that we will unveil in January 2013 that we believe represents the future of logistics barcode scanning.”
