Compact sensor for small loads
The new KM019 mini S-beam load cell from MEGATRON takes up very little space
Force sensors are needed in many industrial applications. MEGATRON now launches the Mini-S-Beam force transducer, especially for measuring small forces. The sensor has measuring ranges of 0...10 N, 20 N and 45 N and has a very compact design.
Thanks to its small dimensions of 19 mm x 17.5 mm x 5 mm, the mini S-beam force transducer can easily be used in applications with very limited installation space. Like all force transducers from MEGATRON, the KM019 operates on the Wheatstone strain gauge full bridge principle: this means that the sensor measures actuating forces in tension or compression with maximum accuracy. The KM019 measures consistently and reliably with a repeatability of just ≤ 0.1% Fnom - especially when monitoring manufacturing processes.
Although the sensor is designed to measure small forces, it is robust enough to withstand up to ten times the nominal force without damage in the event of a fault. The load cell can be used in ambient temperatures from -30°C to +85°C and has an IP40 protection rating.
The Mini-S-Beam force transducer is particularly suitable for measuring small forces in production, dosing and assembly processes. Typical applications for the new miniature sensor include packaging systems for fragile goods, tablet presses, systems for handling pressure-sensitive parts and devices for measuring small actuating forces (e.g. switches, levers, etc.).
A measuring amplifier is available as an accessory for the Mini-S-Beam force transducer (IMA2 DMS). If series production is required, MEGATRON can assemble cables and connectors or adapt the threads for force application on request.
