Company jubilee with dedication of sensor technology center

Leuze electronic opens new sensor technology center at headquarters in Owen. The new building was solemnly dedicated at the anniversary celebration in July, at which the employees celebrated the company's 50th birthday.

OWEN. A two-story office building with approximately 2000 sq. meters of floor space and a hall of the same size for state-of-the-art production facilities with associated areas for production planning and control were erected on the company grounds in Owen.

The building complex, with construction costs in the upper single-digit million range, will provide the prerequisites for Leuze electronic to continue expansion of its position on the global market and continue production and sales of its "automation equipment at world class level" in the future as well. The sensor technology center is simultaneously a pledge to the Owen location, where a staff of 350 is employed. Worldwide, Leuze electronic has a turnover of 131 million euro with 850 employees and 18 subsidiaries.

For over 50 years the company has produced optoelectronic sensors, inductive switches and identification and image processing systems as well as solutions for safety at work. These products are used successfully in the automotive industry, conveyor and storage technology and packaging and analysis technology as well as in the fields of handling and assembly technology and electronics. This success and the dedication of the new sensor technology center were good reasons for our employees and their families to extensively celebrate the company's 50th birthday at the company headquarters - with a highly varied program of activities, culinary delicacies from three continents and an exciting basketball tournament with a common goal: Leuze electronic's donation for a good purpose.

Informative and enthralling, particularly for the children, were the guided tours through the development and state-of-the-art production facilities. Here it became clear, why Leuze electronic speaks of a sensor technology center, because technology is not only applied and produced here - it is also developed. From ASIC design to special joining procedures - the finished components are convincing in global comparison in technical as well as economic terms. This is proven by the many hundred thousand optoelectronic sensors produced in Owen year for year.

The move to the new building will also provide for optimum consolidation of the individual departments. For the employees this will result in advantages from "short decision-making paths" in the literal sense of the word. Customers will also profit, because permanent delivery capability is absolutely essential for many. The mature logistics, custom-tailored operating systems, short paths and highly flexible employees allow this sensor producer in Owen to react quickly - even when customer requests are received on short notice.
