Enhanced performance and productivity: 3D cameras for powerful laser triangulation and VeriSens vision sensors which are twice as fast
Baumer presents the new Baumer LX VisualApplets 3D cameras with integrated image preprocessing for laser triangulation and new VeriSens models 510, 700 and 800 of the XC, XF and ID series with twice the processing speed and integrated Industrial Ethernet.
High-performing, fast laser triangulation
The 3D cameras respond with 2 and 12 megapixel resolution, 2K and 4K line width respectively and profile rates of more than 2.5 kHz at 128 lines for precise tasks in laser triangulation at high speed. A particularly developed laser triangulation applet based on VisualApplets technology allows for locating the laser line focus directly in the camera with subpixel accuracy, so transmission will only contain the profile data. This will reduce the volume of data for cost-efficient and flexible system setup with GigE interface. The high resolution and profile rate allow for precise acquisition of the 3D information to identify even the slightest deviations reliably at high processing speed. Aggregating profiles ensure reliable high-speed transmission while also significantly reducing the CPU load. Thanks to the pre-installed 3D applet, laser triangulation tasks can be immediately set up without the need for additional programming – yet providing users with maximum flexibility in convenient adaptation to application-specific requirements. The 3D cameras are quickly integrated using third party software such as HALCON. System calibration is easily performed by 3D specimen. Series production begins in the first quarter of 2017.

Double productivity
With new VeriSens models, users benefit from doubled productivity in image-based quality inspection and integrated Industrial Ethernet which is also an element of the Internet of Things. Enhanced processing performance cutting image processing time in half in many applications, in part location and in code and text reading. This means a doubling of checked parts with increased speed of the conveyor belt. Alternatively, a single vision sensor can do twice the number of feature checks in the same time, enhancing inspection scope. Sophisticated code reading algorithms improve reading reliability under industrial conditions. The proven configurable web interface was expanded with the new VeriSens MultiViewer. It allows for viewing up to 16 VeriSens vision sensors simultaneously on one browser screen which can be adapted to the running process. This way, the operator keeps track of the entire installation. Integrated PROFINET ensures efficient interfacing in Industrial Internet, cutting down on integration and cabling effort while easing setup. Series production begins in December 2016.
