FLS-C laser distance sensor with SSI interface
Dimetix AG: The FLS-C laser distance sensor measures absolute distances up to 500 m contact-free and with a unique accuracy of ±1 mm. The repeat accuracy is ±0.3 mm. Measurement values are updated at a frequency of up to 200 Hz. The measurement values are output via an SSI interface (Synchronous Serial Interface) which is fitted as standard. This ensures uncomplicated data exchange between the FLS-C transducer and a control system. As a result, the FLS-C laser distance sensor can be connected directly to a drive controller or a remote I/O SSI sensor interface from any manufacturer.
The area of application of the FLS-C laser distance sensor is very diverse. For instance, the FLS-C laser distance sensor is a reliable actual value encoder in small parts or pallet warehouses. In crane systems, the FLS-C laser distance sensor is used for positioning as well as ensuring controlled synchronization. In addition, the FLS-C laser distance sensor is successfully implemented to cut wooden beams, steels slabs, etc. with millimeter precision. Furthermore, it can be used to reliably measure stack heights and fill levels. The FLS-C laser distance sensor is also ideal for performing assembly checks and for object monitoring applications.
Thanks to the most innovative laser technology, the FLS-C laser distance sensor can reliably measure distances to a huge range of different materials, e.g. wood, steel, concrete and so on. Irrespective of the type and color of the material, the FLS-C laser distance sensor delivers measurement results with millimeter accuracy. If equipped with the optional heating unit, these measuring devices also provide a robust and cost-efficient solution for extremely low ambient temperatures down to -40 °C.
