Force measurement boosts efficiency in the development of aircraft galleys
In the past Bucher Leichtbau demonstrated the airworthiness of galleys on test benches with indirect calculation of force
The Swiss company Bucher Leichtbau AG manufactures galleys (on-board kitchens) for commercial aircraft. Using type U10M force transducers from measuring technology specialist HBM made it possible to speed up the tests considerably, which is reflected in lower costs. At the same time, the direct measurement provides more accurate and therefore more meaningful test results.
Based on strain gage technology, the U10M force transducer is ideally suited for measuring static and dynamic forces. The transducer features a sturdy, flat measuring body and individual bending moment alignment. Users benefit from using force transducers in test benches and production monitoring compared to the complicated and inefficient method of determining forces through indirect calculations. The increased efficiency associated with the use of SG force transducers results in lower costs.
