Fourth generation SHT4xA digital humidity sensor now available
Sensirion is adding the digital automotive sensor SHT4xA to its established range of humidity and temperature sensors. This is available immediately through direct sales as well as Sensirion’s global distribution channels. With its integrated diagnostic capability, AEC-Q100 product qualification, optional wettable flanks and low annual drift, the SHT4xA sets the highest standards for demanding applications.
The SHT4xA is based on Sensirion’s proven CMOSens® Technology and twenty years of experience in humidity measurement. The sensor was developed specifically for automotive applications and meets the most demanding reliability requirements, such as accelerated lifetime tests at 85°C / 85 %RH. In addition, an integrated heater enables chip self-diagnostics throughout its operating life.
The sensor is available in different accuracy classes and with an I2C or pulse width modulation interface. The optional wettable flanks of the DFN housing enable automatic optical inspection (AOI) after surface mounting of the PCB. Accuracy tolerances down to ±2 %RH and ±0.2°C are achieved over the full measurement range of 0 %RH to 100 %RH and from -40°C to 125°C. The operating voltage range is 2.3 to 5.5 V. Optional protection options using an applied membrane or protective film provide splash water protection or facilitate processing during production.
“Sensirion has been setting the industry standard in humidity sensor technology for more than 20 years. This is based on our competences in ASIC, MEMS and package design as well as proven calibration expertise. In combination with our very broad application knowledge, the SHT4xA again realizes an innovative leap from which our customers can now benefit,” says Maximilian Eichberger, Director Product Management Humidity and Temperature Sensors at Sensirion.
