HBM strain gage catalog
HBM's new catalog "Strain Gages and Accessories" is now available in English and German versions.
Strain gages are mainly used in the manufacture of transducers and, also, for experimental stress analysis.
In particular, when applications in experimental stress analysis with frequently changing requirements on strain gages are concerned, the new catalog enables users to swiftly and reliably find the right strain gage. A flow chart that requires users to answer some questions allows to quickly determine the strain gage type that best fits the respective application.
All strain gages available from HBM and their specifications are presented on about 100 pages.
In addition, users will find many useful hints on how to correctly use strain gages.
Optical strain gages based on so-called fiber Bragg gratings are among the highlights of the new catalog. These are particularly suited to applications with very high numbers of load cycles and high strain.
Electromagnetic interference is excluded because of the optical principle of measurement that is used. Moreover, optical strain gages can also be used in applications in potentially explosive atmospheres.
In addition to information about strain gages the catalog provides details about accessories, such as adhesives, bonding material, cleaning and covering agents, that are required for strain gage applications. The catalog can be ordered from HBM or, alternatively, is available for download at www.hbm.com/en/menu/products/strain-gages-accessories/strain-gauge-catalog/
