HBM upgrades all-rounder torque flange
HBM’s new T40 all-rounder torque flange is suitable for many applications from stand-alone operation to expandable measuring chains. It provides consistently reliable measurement results in test benches and in process monitoring at an optimal price.
A special sigma-delta converter is used to ensure reliable digital transmission of measurement values from rotor to stator. The robust design features a transmitter coil integrated in the flange to increase reliability and reduce down time.
The transmission speed of 1.0 MBaud with error identification ensures insensitivity to interference without loss of data or accuracy even for applications where EMC is a critical issue. Digital balancing prevents thermal loading of the balancing element ensuring precise, absolute balancing values are available.
High accuracy and stability are obtained using a ratiometric method of measurement – the reference voltage of the analog-to-digital converter is always equal to the bridge excitation voltage of the Wheatstone bridge and any drifts compensate each other.
The length of the torque flange has been reduced to save space and costs in test benches. High permissible parasitic loads enable machine elements to be directly mounted.
T40 is currently available for nominal (rated) torques of 1 kN•m and 2 kN•m. It offers an accuracy class of 0.05 and can be rapidly supplied from stock.
