High resolution for small part measurement
The LPS 36 light section sensors from Leuze electronic now offer resolution up to 0.1 mm, which makes them perfectly suited for the measurement of small parts.
For height intervals from 200 to 600 mm, the LPS 36 HI/EN line profile sensor is an economical way to detect parts that are smaller than 3 mm. On a line 140 mm long, the sensor can quickly and precisely ascertain the dimensions of small parts in a very short measurement time of 10 ms and with a high measurement rate of 100 Hz, thanks to its high resolution of 0.1 to 0.9 mm . The transmission of measurement data and the configuration of the sensor is done via Ethernet. An additional connection for standard incremental encoders supports the creation of calibrated 3D data. This makes them excellent devices for creating solutions for robot controls in Pick & Place applications as well as positioning tasks in packaging and assembly areas, to name just a few. Where elaborate sensor solutions, sensor combinations or additional evaluation units were once necessary, the LPS 36 HI/EN light section sensors open up fields of application - due to their good resolution - which were previously reserved for camera systems. All this for lower investment costs and in an extremely compact construction, since the transmitter and receiver are housed in an easy-to-install unit.
