IO-Link hub for 8 analog input signals
Convert analog signals into IO-Link signals
Balluff: In most equipment and machines analog signals make up only around ten percent of the total data volume. But connecting and incorporating analog input signals is an expensive proposition. Not so with the IO-Link Hub. It passes the analog input signals on to the IO-Link master as digital signals. This eliminates shielded or unshielded special cables, distribution boxes or expensive analog interfaces as well as additional junction boxes. Another advantage: by switching from analog to digital data transmission the process quality is significantly improved.
The hub is designed for maximum 8 analog input signals and represents an important cost savings potential for systems that process analog values. Each port can be configured as an input for a current/voltage signal or also for a Pt sensor or thermocouple.
The new hub thus ensures maximum signal variability. The mixing of different current/voltage interfaces 0...10 V, 5...10 V, –10...+10 V, 0...5 V, –5...+5 V, 0...20 mA, 4...20 mA) on one module is possible, with resolution selectable between 10 and 16 bits.
The IP67 rated hub (when threaded together) features an extremely rugged zinc die-cast housing and is simple to install thanks to a simple 2-hole mounting design. The ports are connected via plug-and-play using M12 connectors.
