Jewell Instruments, LLC announces full production of former Applied Geomechanics product line

February 5, 2013. Jewell Instruments, a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of sensors and controls, meters and avionics, and industrial test equipment today announced they are in full production of manufacturing and shipping of the former Applied Geomechanics product line that they acquired in December, 2012. The former AGI products have been added to their Inertial Sensors and Controls product line.

Jewell Instruments, LLC (Manchester, NH) originally announced that is had acquired the product lines formerly supplied by Applied Geomechanics (San Francisco, CA), a division of Carbo Ceramics, in December of 2012. Relocation to the Jewell facility started immediately after the acquisition in December and Jewell started full production in January 2013. The Applied Geomechanics (AGI) products are tilt meters and clinometers and include full signal conditioning electronics and are used in a variety of applications in buildings, tunnels, dams, slopes, embankments, volcanoes, landslides, mines and construction projects around the world. These products serve a wide spectrum of clients including highway authorities, major civil engineering consultants and contractors, mines (both surface and underground), railways, auto racing teams, NASA, surveyors, experimental physicists, radio astronomers, JPL and naval architects. Jewell’s new tilt meter and clinometer products offer resolution reported in microradians or even nanoradians, reflecting the extremely high sensitivity of some of these instruments.
