Larson Davis Signs Exclusive Worldwide Agreement with Bertrand-Johnson Acoustics for Distribution of Hearing Conversation Software Products and Services
December 28, 2007, Depew, NY, USA – The Larson Davis division of PCB Piezotronics, an industry leader in innovative noise and vibration exposure instrumentation and software for Industrial Hygiene & Safety, has announced an exclusive worldwide distribution agreement for the products and services of renowned hearing conversation pioneers Bertrand-Johnson Acoustics (BJA) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Products developed by BJA, to be sold under the Larson Davis product umbrella, include CORTITM and HPD Select© Software for audiometric trend analysis and hearing conversation program (HCP) qualifications, which provide Safety and Health Managers with predictive analysis tools and regulatory recordkeeping for management of company-wide HCP’s and proper selection of appropriate Hearing Protection Devices (HPD’s) to meet various regulatory standards.
Founded in 1998 through the collaboration of Dr. Robert Bertrand and the late Daniel Johnson, Ph.D, experts at BJA pioneered the application of advanced statistical analysis techniques to hearing conservation, with the goal of forever eliminating Occupational Noise Induced Hearing Loss (ONIHL). Notes Ms. Ninon Bertrand, president of BJA and director of the CAOHC equivalent course in Quebec, “By integrating our collective knowledge of audiology, acoustics, hearing protection and statistics with Larson Davis, we’ve developed a powerful new approach to determine whether your HCP is effective, with projection of hearing loss trends, as well as allocation of responsibility for existing hearing loss.”
According to Alain DeLandsheer, Larson Davis Director of Sales and Marketing: “The synergistic combination of strategic management information software tools from BJA with day-to-day exposure assessment tools from Larson Davis results in a complete and comprehensive way to ensure that worker’s compensation costs are contained proactively, as well as ensuring that worker hearing health –and consequently, quality of life –is both preserved and enhanced.”
