Leuze electronic becomes a member of the OPC Foundation

Leuze electronic considers OPC UA to be a key enabler in data communication for Industry 4.0 and is therefore to become a full member of the OPC Foundation.

Leuze electronic: Unlike the conventional fieldbus interface, an Industry 4.0-capable interface together with the OPC UA communication model can transport data to higher IT levels of the RAMI architecture model. For this reason, Leuze electronic sees OPC UA as the future standard in M2M data communication for Industry 4.0 and uses the OPC Foundation stack for its Industry 4.0-capable sensors. As an example of an Industry 4.0-capable component, Leuze electronic has a BCL 300 bar code reader on display at the OPC Foundation and will also be showcasing this device at its own trade show booth at SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg (building 7A, booth 230).
