Leuze electronic offers complete sensor systems from a single source
Leuze electronic develops from sensor manufacturer into complete solution provider. New accessory and network components reflect this systems approach and was presented for the first time at the Hannover Messe trade fair.
Leuze electronic: In automation technology, sensors are the “eyes and feelers” of the control technology. But their fastening and connection are also decisive criteria for the selection and use of sensors. Both standard as well as special sensors now offer an intuitive and simple possibility for adapting the sensor systems to make installation and commissioning as time-saving and as simple as possible. With innovative processes such as multi-level teach, many steps can be grouped together with just one button and thereby simplified. More and more focus is therefore placed on the upstream mounting and the corresponding connection options. Particularly important here is the time savings, which plays a decisive role during installation and commissioning.
The detailed application know-how of the sensor people helps Leuze electronic stand out as an innovation leader in optical sensors and leading manufacturer and solution provider in electrical automation. In addition to this is an optimally matched, comprehensive product range that includes – alongside optical universal sensors – inductive variants as well as ultrasonic models. Moreover, the user can select from within a wide range of connection cables, mounting devices as well as network elements such as distributors and terminals for connecting to the control technology. With power supply unit or signal lamps as indicators, further sources of error can be eliminated and the initial setup and commissioning times significantly reduced.
Leuze electronic is increasingly expanding its product range with accessory and infrastructure products and the optimum interaction of those products to offer the user a complete solution from a single source that is exactly tailored to his needs – from power supply unit to sensor. The sensors are thereby quickly and easily connected to the control technology, simultaneously resulting in an attractively priced solution. At the Hannover Messe trade fair from April 25 to 29 in Hall 9, Stand G76, Leuze electronic will – for the first time – be presenting a new series of products that make this systems approach clear: regulated power supply units for supplying sensors, modular LED signal lamps and sensor distributors with M8 and M12 ports as well as connection cables. “This is the first step,” says Michael Mayer-Rosa, the responsible director of the Accessories product area. “The aspiration to be able to completely and smartly find a solution to the application with smart application know-how will lead to many other products – including customer-specific products – and will see us move from a pure component supplier to a sensor system provider.” This aspiration does not end with commissioning or installation, but rather continues with the day-to-day operation. It enables significantly reduced maintenance times by using the higher intelligence of the senors for self-learning functions, e.g., for sensitivity readjustment in the event of soiling, and thereby ensures increased functional reliability.
