By developing the new Micropulse "ProCompact" transducers, the sensor specialist and connectivity provider Balluff has set new standards for the outdoor use of magnetostrictive distance measurement systems. Manufactured completely from solidly welded stainless steel with degree of protection IP 68, the Pro-Compact fulfills degree of protection IP 69K when combined with an additional cable protection system. ProCompact is the perfect solution for accurately measuring the piston position on hydraulic cylinders in the toughest outdoor conditions

Additional measures such as a separate housing, protective coating or special fittings and cables are not required. The ProCompact can be used immediately without making any adjustments. Ideal areas of application include water works and power plant engineering, offshore facilities, rail vehicles, hydraulic valves and hydraulic axes in outdoor applications.

Due to their high degree of precision and reliability, ProCompact transducers are frequently used in safety-relevant applications such as tensioning equipment for overhead lines. The transducer measures the elongation of overhead lines on rail systems and ensures that power is supplied reliably to rail vehicles.

Micropulse transducers from Balluff are completely wear and maintenance-free and so guarantee an extremely long service life as well as preventing unproductive, expensive downtimes.
