Mobile data acquisition at your fingertips: GEN2i honored with Usability Award
"Best-designed application": The Nielsen Norman Group has recognized the user interface of HBM's GEN2i mobile high-speed data recorder with this international award for outstanding user-friendliness.
The data recorder features up to 64 individually configurable channels for use in both continuous data logging and fast sweeps. Sampling rates of up to 100 MS/s can be reached even when numerous channels are recorded synchronously. The data recorder features a modular layout for flexible and simple adaptation to a wide range of applications.
HBM developers placed special emphasis on making operability as simple as possible. Operation of modern mobile terminal devices served as the model. All functions are controlled from the large touchscreen, eliminating the need for a keyboard and mouse. User literally have every function at their fingertip with innovative, one-touch control.
The control concept also includes gesture control, which is becoming a familiar feature of smartphones. This method is used for example to zoom in on data or scroll through data records based on finger movements.
The intuitive interface won the internationally coveted distinction for excellent user-friendliness. The judges especially emphasized the generously dimensioned data display on the screen, although an abundance of control options is also available. They also praised the fact that the instrument can easily be operated by new users, yet advanced users also have quick access to all important functions.
