More than just a gateway

With the MA 200i family, Leuze electronic brings simple and convenient access to a wide range of network structures for all non-fieldbus-capable devices. Furthermore, the MA 200i modular interfacing unit can, by means of the available switch function, be used in a line structure with all Ethernet variants, such as PROFINET.

With the MA 200i modular interfacing unit, the connected device is selected by means of a rotary switch. As a result, it is possible to connect not only identification devices, e.g. barcode readers or RFID devices, but also positioning systems, such as the BPS 30 or AMS 200 systems from Leuze electronic. The evaluation unit and the MA 200i connector unit are connected by means of a ready-made cable. This eliminates the error-prone and sometimes complicated wiring. The electrical connection of the fieldbus, the inputs and outputs, and the voltage supply is established by means of standardized M12 connections. An integrated switch is available for all Ethernet-related fieldbuses, such as PROFINET. This eliminates the star-shaped wiring which is standard in the Ethernet world. The devices can be connected to one another in a line structure, as is typically the case for fieldbuses. This simplifies wiring requirements and provides additional transparency. The status of the MA 200i modular interfacing unit is indicated by four LEDs, thereby facilitating simple diagnostics of the fieldbus connection. Two elongated holes or four threaded holes are available for fastening the connector unit.
