Multitalent for high process reliability
The HRTL 96B laser light scanner from Leuze electronic for horizontal positioning, overshoot control, safeguarding the operation of cranes, compartment occupation checks in intralogistics systems.
The multitalent is especially well suited for positioning tasks and reliable object detection. It is mounted on the high-bay storage device for safely positioning pallets on shelf racks in automatically operated, single-, double- or multi-depth storage systems. With its very good b/w detection thresholds, the scanner can determine whether a compartment is occupied.
It works on the principle of pulse propagation time measurement. As a result, other light sources, far and near interfering contours, rounded shelf edges and different surface colours or materials—such as reflecting pallet foils and different, even dynamic, backgrounds, like passing storage and retrieval units for high-bay warehouses—are no problem for the scanner. Thanks to its large detection range from 50 to 6000 mm, the scanner replaces the complex, mechanical overshoot controls on the shelves by inspecting the position of the pallet in the shelf compartment and its protrusion during the bring/fetch process. This increases process reliability considerably and reduces the work and costs in assembling the steel construction.
The HRTL 96B laser light scanner is very fast and has extremely short response times (< 5ms) and high switching frequencies (100 Hz). Measuring just 30 x 90 x 70 mm, it is extremely small and can thus be used even in limited spaces. Through configuration, the sensor can be optimally adapted to a given application in just a short time. It features two independent switching points that can quickly be taught via a reference value at the touch of a button. The impenetrable, robust metal housing enables use even in dusty environments, such as those encountered in wood processing, and at ambient temperatures from -30 to +50°C. In addition, this sensor has been tested in accordance with IP 69K and Ecolab.
