New additions to the safety portfolio
Non-contact and tamper-proof
Balluff: Just in time for SPS IPC DRIVES 2017 Balluff adds to their existing safety portfolio with a transponder coded safety sensor and a transponder coded safety interlock. These safety components shine especially in difficult environments where contamination or dust is expected. Both devices can be connected directly to the Balluff safe I/O module or other safety devices using standardized M12 connectors. With the integrated safe processing electronics and the OSSD output stage they can be used without problem in applications up to PLe and SIL 3.
The non-contact, transponder-coded safety sensor
BID R03K is the ideal choice for monitoring guard doors and flaps. The passive RFID transponder is uniquely identified by the sensor, so that high coding levels and high tamper protection can be implemented. Thanks to its generous operating distance it is not only insensitive to strong vibration or mechanical play on the protection mechanism, but is also the ideal choice when doors settle or are imprecisely guided. An optional version with integrated holding magnets (18N) is even available for strong vibration. The compact installation size makes integration especially easy.
The non-contact transponder coded safety interlock BID Z01K is ideal for securing and monitoring guard doors and safety flaps to protect persons from potential hazards or prevent interruption of processes. Here also a high coding level ensures great tamper protection. The interlock accepts only the Unikat RFID actuator that was last coupled with the sensor.
The compact form factor, high protection rating of IP69 and the ability to use the interlock as a mechanical door stop all give you maximum flexibility and simplify integration into your application. A selectable latching force of 25 N or 50 N makes the interlock insensitive to vibration even when unlocked.
