New Solid-State Scanner for Automatic Doors

The new ShieldScan® door sensor uses a single compact sensor element to secure all revolving doors with widths up to 1800 mm and heights up to 3500 mm. It uses the superior time-of-flight technology (ToF), which masters even difficult light and ground situations. The solid-state scanner from Pepperl+Fuchs does not require a rotating mirror system, operates silently, and is characterized by high mechanical robustness. The protection field is made up of individual beams, curves in the area of the hinge edge, and provides efficient pinch protection. ShieldScan, which consists only of the housing and cover, is extremely easy to install and requires just one teach-in process. The device remembers the beginning of a "virtual wall," so that no additional teach-in processes are required in the event of changes in the environment or to the inclination angle. IP65 protection makes it ideal for outdoor use.
