Optimal vibration-data acquisition at a shaker stand
Delphin Technology AG: Vibration tests are often required during new-product development. This involves securing the product to a shaker and shaking according to set standards. Vibration measurements are taken both at the shaker itself as well as at the test sample.
Vibrations patterns in the test sample are evaluated according to excitation frequencies. This requires the measurement of frequencies, phase shifts and amplitudes. FFTs and appropriate analysis diagrams are also required.
Expert Vibro is especially suited to such tasks. Eight or sixteen synchronous inputs enable all the required measurements to be acquired. The device can also simultaneously control the shaker and provide set-point values. Digital outputs monitor characteristic values and are used for shutting down in the event of an alarm.
Application example
A manufacturer of cooling and air-conditioning equipment uses Expert Vibro to measure shaker test stands in their research and development activities. Multiple synchronous velocity signals are recorded with the data then being evaluated using the ProfiSignal software. The information can be clearly portrayed in bode diagrams, FFT spectrums or time-signal trends. Raw data can be exported into other analysis programs for more detailed evaluation.
As a SCADA system, ProfiSignal provides all the functions required at a test stand within a single system. Visualisation and operation takes place via display windows. ProfiSignal’s Klicks programing feature can also be used for automating procedures and for producing reports. Users can then create customized measurement procedures for product development as well as inspection tests for production.
