Peter M. Grütter new COO of maxon motor ag
maxon motor: As of 1 Dec 2013, Peter M. Grütter, 47, has been named COO and Member of the Executive Management Board of maxon motor ag in Sachseln. Grütter previously worked for over 15 years in various management roles within the Schindler Group, most recently as Senior Vice President of the Corporate Quality division.
“We are very pleased that Peter M. Grütter, with his extensive international management experience, will be taking on the role of COO. He is a team player who actively maintains direct contact with customers and employees,” said Eugen Elmiger, CEO of maxon motor ag.
Peter Grütter worked at Schindler for 15 years. After several years as Vice President of Manufacturing at the Swiss factory for high-performance elevators, he went on to manage the production sites in the USA from 2005 to 2010. Later, Grütter held the position of Senior Vice President of the Corporate Quality division. From 2001 to 2005, he was President of Schindler's vocational training center in Switzerland.
Grütter studied Industrial Management and Manufacturing at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). After his studies, he worked in various roles, including as factory manager at Rieter AG, before he joined Schindler in 1998. The Swiss-Canadian dual citizen is married with two children.
The maxon motor group is specialized in the development, production, and sale of precision brushed and brushless DC motors and drive systems. The company's micro drives can be found everywhere from the core of the earth to the surface of Mars. The maxon motor group has more than 2,000 employees around the world; around 1,200 of these are based in Sachseln. The group has production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, and South Korea.
