Pilz follows the recommendation of the Robert Koch Institute, to counter the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus by reducing contact - Safety first: Pilz will not participate in SPS
In order to protect customers and staff, the automation company Pilz has decided not to have a physical presence with an exhibition stand at the SPS Smart Production Solutions exhibition in Nuremberg. In doing so it is following the recommendation of the Robert Koch Institute, not to take part in large indoor events due to the worsening Corona virus epidemic. Instead, the company invites to use the digital trade fair offerings.
"The growing infection rates in the last few days left us no choice. Reluctantly we have decided not to exhibit at the exhibition centre in Nuremberg", explained Susanne Kunschert, Managing Partner of Pilz GmbH & Co.KG. This also applies to Pilz's participation in the fringe events and conference programme at the exhibition centre.
"An exhibition thrives for the most part on personal exchange and conversations. However, the health of visitors, exhibitors and everyone else who works at the exhibition centre is paramount. It's obvious that we must all adjust our behaviour to break this wave of the Corona virus. One important measure is to reduce contacts. Our contribution will be to withdraw our physical presence from the exhibition." We will shortly announce our alternatives to attending the exhibition and options for experiencing our Pilz innovations live.
Digital formats as an adequate alternative in Corona
Kunschert continues: "It was right to design the exhibition as a hybrid event from the outset. This means that visitors to the exhibition also have digital options to find out about the innovations from Pilz and the other exhibitors."
In addition to the trade fair's digital offering "SPS on air", visitors can also use Pilz's new digital showroom: Just in time for the start of the exhibition, interested parties can explore the world of Pilz automation digitally and interactively.
Pilz also offers the opportunity to arrange further personal (digital) appointments at www.pilz.com/sps.
