PLC and field bus data logging

Delphin Technology AG: Industry 4.0 (IoT), energy monitoring according to EN 50001 and condition monitoring are the issues of today. The applications, technologies and systems behind them form the basis for a comprehensive networking of sensors, actuators, controllers and other equipment.

Interoperability is also required from measurement technology. Analog and digital signals are now being increasingly replaced by field buses. At test stands, precision measurement data needs to be transferred to central control systems using field bus interfaces.

New energy laws also require the data acquisition, archiving and evaluation of power output, pressures, flows and many other parameters all of which are generally already available in PLC and building management systems.

All the above show that data acquisition is required not only in new systems but also in existing plant, machinery and automated building systems. Delphin hardware and software products are equipped with a range interfaces and protocols to meet these requirements.

The ProfiMessage, Expert Logger, Expert Transient and Expert Vibro devices from Delphin each have two PROFIBUS, one Modbus TCP, one CAN, and one Modbus RTU interfaces. The integrated PROFIBUS interface also supports sniffing functions. Delphin products also have an integrated OPC UA client and server to make them future ready especially regarding Industry 4.0 (IoT).

Binary and analog data from sensors, actuators and PLC systems can be transferred to Delphin devices via the interfaces and then monitored, archived and evaluated.

Furthermore, measurement data, computed data and alarms acquired by Delphin devices can be transferred to controllers via a field bus. Two-way data transfer is possible.
