Pressure Transmitter Configuration with FlexProgrammer
Aarhus/Staffanstorp/Swindon, February 27, 2008. Baumer’s product segment Process Instrumentation offers the pressure transmitter E610 with a universal programming interface for the FlexProgrammer 9701. The tool enables direct configuration at any standard PC via USB-Port as well as remote configuration.
The E610 pressure transmitter, based on ceramic capacitive pressure technology, has excellent resistance to overpressure as well as zero stability and long term stability at low pressure. The transmitter is suitable for all applications involving occasional high overpressures, e.g. in water distribution and treatment networks, for pressure measurement on industrial air conditioner units or level measurement on tanks and pipes.
With the FlexProgrammer 9701, it is possible to offset the pressure transmitter zero and to readjust the range by changing the gain. Offsetting the zero between 0 and 25 per cent of the measuring range is possible for specific measurements as level or residual pressure in a circuit. The scale can be adjusted to up to 50 per cent of the range. Configuration with the FlexProgrammer is easy and intuitive. The battery-powered configuration tool with an integrated display and four push buttons can also be used as an independent programming device.
Therefore, the FlexProgrammer allows remote configuration of the E610 in challenging environments. Since the software is based on FDT (Field Device Tool) with every driver device acting as a Device Type Manager (DTM), other pressure and temperature transmitters of the Baumer Process Instrumentation product range can be configured with this tool as well.
