It is not only autonomously operating machines and AI-supported systems that rely on precise data in harsh field conditions - without sensors, machines are "blind", without measuring and process control instruments, they are "deaf" and cannot be controlled. For applications in which tension, compression, torque, displacement or angles have to be measured and monitored under harsh conditions, burster has been offering proven measuring technology "Made in Germany" for reliable data logging and evaluation for over 65 years. The portfolio includes a wide selection of standard sensors as well as customer-specific special solutions, including extremely flat designs or variants with integrated side load compensation. The range is completed by intelligent measuring systems and evaluation units, which can be linked to form coordinated measuring chains with little effort. They provide reliable measured values even under demanding enviriomental conditions. Most of the components are manufactured in Germany and are robust and hard-wearing. Thanks to the high proportion of EU components, burster also ensures a high level of delivery capability and crisis resilience.
Versatile applications on land, at sea and in the air
The measuring components are used in a wide range of applications. They are mainly used in civilian applications, but can easily withstand tougher operating conditions, such as in the military sector: for example, ring load cells mounted directly in the hydraulic boom support determine the support force of recovery cranes or commercial vehicles. They meet the highest requirements even under the most adverse enviriomental conditions and thus contribute to safe operation in the field.
In naval vessels, control and drive elements are computer-controlled. Here too, torque and angular displacement sensors are used in the quality assurance of the controls to ensure safe and ergonomic manual input. For this purpose, the smallest torques are measured with high precision and repeatability over a defined rotation angle range in the forward and reverse directions. Precision miniature load cells are used for small forces, such as in the automatic haptic testing of switches and controls, for example in aircraft cockpits, to ensure reliable intuitive operation during subsequent operation. Although the actuation force is measured and the switching, latching and release points are tested.
Many mobile applications today rely on powerful rechargeable batteries: Here, too, precise measurement technology ensures reliable operation, whether through 100% inspection of battery modules in incoming goods inspection or press-fit monitoring of contacts in battery production. The manufacturer also offers measuring and testing devices such as µ, m and high ohmmeters, battery testing devices, press-fit, assembling and torque progress monitoring as well as portable sensor calibration devices. All sensors, accessories and measuring devices can be tested or certified in the in-house, accredited calibration laboratory for electrical and mechanical measured variables to meet standard specifications and ensure readiness for use.
