Rugged Force Transducers Offer High Precision, Configurability
HBM has introduced the C10 line of compressive force transducers. C10 force transducers are not only very precise, but the stainless steel version also is hermetically sealed. They have an IP68 rating, meaning that they can be used in environments where dirt and moisture can be a problem.
The C10 is available with various nominal forces ranging from 2.5 kN to 1 MN, in accuracy classes ranging from 0.03 to 0.06. Despite the high output signal (up to 4 mV/V), C10 transducers have a very low temperature coefficient. The zero point temperature coefficient, TC0, is only 75 ppm/10 K.
According to Thomas Kleckers, product marketing manager for HBM, “No other sensor on the market made from rust free materials offers this level of performance.”
A wide variety of options are available, including a double-bridge option, TEDS transducer electronic data sheets, and many different cables and connectors. Altogether, there are 2,304 different configurations. C10 applications will range from propulsion testing to end-of-line testing, to drop testing and anywhere precision force in harsh environments is required.
