S. Himmelsten and Company Announces ISO 17025:2017 Calibration Lab Accreditation
(Hoffman Estates, IL, November 19, 2019) – S. Himmelstein and Company is pleased to announce it has been granted ISO 17025:2017 accreditation for their torque sensor calibration laboratory. This accreditation takes into account the latest changes in laboratory environment and work practices. ISO’s definition of this accreditation is that it specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories.
S. Himmelstein and Company’s calibration lab was found to produce results that can be widely trusted, has a proven quality system, and demonstrates that they are technically competent and able to produce valid and reliable results.
Per the ISO Committee, “ISO/IEC 17025:2017 also helps facilitate cooperation between laboratories and other bodies by generating wider acceptance of results between countries. Test reports and certificates can be accepted from one country to another without the need for further testing, which, in turn, improves international trade.” ISO/IEC 17025:2017 was developed jointly by ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) under the responsibility of the ISO Committee on conformity assessment (CASCO).
S. Himmelstein and Company offers the broadest available range of ISO 17025 accredited torque calibration services, from 10 ozf-in to 4 million lbf-in (0.07 Nm to 452,000 Nm). The 4,000,000 lbf-in fixture is one of only three worldwide accredited for calibrations above 1,000,000 lbf-in and has the lowest measurement uncertainty of them all. Their torque calibration equipment includes nine calibration stands that provide optimal measurement uncertainty for the range of transducer being calibrated. Himmelstein’s expertise and specialization make them an ideal provider of torque calibration services in the industry.
Services are offered for torque transducers manufactured by Himmelstein as well as by other manufacturers. ISO 17025:2017 accredited, NIST-traceable calibration certificates are provided with each torque transducer calibration.
S. Himmelstein and Company has been offering innovative torque measurement solutions since 1960, manufacturing a full line of shaft, spline, flange, pulley, wheel and reaction torquemeters, and other torque measuring instruments.
