SENSeOR & BeanAir join saw & wireless technology forces in wireless sensor networks
To answer the increasing need of major industrial customers for interoperable wireless surveillance systems for condition monitoring, SENSeOR & BeanAir join forces in designing the most effective Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) available on the automation market.
SENSeOR’s sensors, based on SAW (Surface Acoustic Waves) technology feature unique benefits for temperature, pressure and stress measurement: sensors are wireless, batteryless, robust and small. Operating like a radar, they are interrogated by radio-frequency, and fed by the radio wave emitted. They are thus totally autonomous and maintenance free, and are perfectly fitted for condition monitoring, specifically in harsh environments.
BeanAir’s innovative Wireless Sensor Networks are based on IEEE 802.15.4, GSM/GPRS and GPS. Their ultra-low power WSN components are specifically designed for harsh or inaccessible environments, for telemetry and remote surveillance applications.
The flexibility of these technology bricks allows building customized WSN for demanding applications while being much more cost-effective than traditional monitoring systems (SENSeOR/BeanAir solutions are in average 30% cheaper than a wired sensor network and more than half the price of a wireless network like RFID). This solution is also much more modular and easier to install, even in retrofit, enabling savings in man-hours for installation and reducing maintenance time (no battery replacements for instance).
SENSeOR and BeanAir have started collaboration on several projects to serve the specific needs of demanding customers in Automation, Aeronautics, Oil & Gas.
Example of applications are wireless remote condition monitoring of rotating industrial equipment, process control on assembly lines, temperature monitoring in machineries and inside engines, generators, compressors, structural health monitoring of storage infrastructures, pipelines etc.
“Our solutions are really complementary and SENSeOR’s wireless SAW sensors add a high-end high-performance yet flexible and cost-effective sensor type to our product lines.” highlights Damon Parsy, Business Development Director at BeanAir.
“BeanAir wireless technology facilitates the building of WSN with our sensors and provides even more powerful solutions that suit our industrial customers’ needs.” confirms François Gégot, Business Development Director at SENSeOR.
