SENSOR+TEST 2016: Move to New Halls – Growth at All Levels
- More than 8,600 visitors
- 586 exhibitors
- Well attended action program
- Conferences with more talks and more participants
Sensor+Test: After three very well attended trade-fair days, the SENSOR+TEST measurement fair in Nuremberg came to a successful end today. A total of 8,600 visitors from all industries (7,142 in the previous year) used the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information on the state of the art in sensor, measuring, and testing technology. Not only the number of visitors, but also the number of exhibitors increased, namely to 586 (last year 548). This is the greatest amount since 2007, before the economic crisis. The ratio of international exhibitors set a new record at 37%. Moreover, the move to exhibition halls 1, 2, and 5 increased the net stand area to a total of 8,700 square meters.
Christoph Kleye, managing director of IS-LINE, chair of the Exhibitor Board, and vice-chair of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement stated, “We’re very glad that the Exhibitor Board and the AMA Association was finally able to implement the move to other exhibition halls. The new concept with two entrances for visitor flows in opposite directions was a great success and has further boosted the attractiveness of the SENSOR+TEST.”
Elena Schultz, head of Marketing and Communication at imc Test & Measurement, emphasized the satisfaction of the great majority of exhibitors, saying, “Our stand was already being well attended during the morning of the first day of the fair. And, as opposed to the previous years, the frequency of visitors over the entire day continued at a high level. Our forum presentations were also met with great interest. Thanks to the focal topic “Measuring in the Cloud” we were able to make contacts among an entirely new target group.”
The two parallel conferences – the 18th ITG/GMA on “Sensors and Measuring Systems” and the etc2016 European Telemetry and Test Conference” – were able to attract more participants with their expanded contributions.
A pleased Holger Bödeker, managing director of the AMA Service organizers, stated, “For Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, sensing and measuring play a crucial role as key technologies, because they link the real and digital worlds. We count on further substantial growth in the future, as we can give it more space thanks to the new hall situation.”
The next SENSOR+TEST is to be held from 30 May to 1 June 2017 again at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. It will be accompanied as per schedule by the two scientific AMA conferences SENSOR and IRS2. The Exhibitor Board and the AMA Association have chosen “Networked Measuring for Mobile Applications” as the focal topic.
