Sierra's Smart-Trak® 50 Series Wins Industry Innovation Award
Sierra Instruments’s Smart-Trak® 50 Series OEM flow controller has been honored by the readers of Flow Control Magazine with their 2010 Product Innovation Award for its advances in flow control technology. This award marks the fifth consecutive annual innovation award given to Sierra by the readers of Flow Control Magazine.
"Couldn’t have done it without our amazing Sierra team,” says Matthew J. Olin, President of Sierra Instruments. “By reducing the number of parts in our new 50 Series by almost 40 percent, automating calibration and leveraging a strong, global supplier base, we’ve been able to deliver our signature 'Smart-Trak' quality and performance in an economical OEM package."
Winning features include the 50 Series advanced 316L stainless steel platinum-wound capillary sensor technology and frictionless-hovering valve technology, ensuring precise mass flow control for nearly any clean gas. In addition, Sierra's unique patented LFE is truly linear, allowing for K factors that really work. Unlike other OEM flow meters and controllers, the linearity of the 50 Series allows the unit to be zeroed and spanned in the field, so OEMs do not have to remove the unit for recalibration.
The 50 Series delivers accuracy of +/- 1.5% FS, repeatability of +/- 0.25% FS, and 0 to 50 slpm/nlpm range in one compact footprint. It comes with analog outputs as well as RS-232 and RS-485 with optional large local display and two DB9 connectors located on either side of the enclosure for convenient wiring.
