SIKO position indicator AP04 in protection class IP65

SIKO position indicators have been used worldwide for the past 30 years in many areas of mechanical engineering to measure the stop and workpiece positions. SIKO has invented these counters, has been continuously developing them and is the global market leader in the field of position indicators.

This know-how, developed over decades, is what SIKO now consistently applies for its new generation of digital position indicators like the AP04.

The bus-compatible AP04 readout has already proved successful many times in semi-automated format changes. Due to the critical value default setting in the two-line LCD, the integrated target/actual value comparison and signaling of the positioning state by using two-color LED, it is possible to achieve significant reductions in equipping times and thus also considerable cost savings. Spindle positioning, usually carried out with mechanical counting devices, has become even more flexible and more reliable owing to the AP04.

So it was only natural to make these benefits available, too, for applications with difficult ambient conditions. In the field of glass or metal processing machines, cooling and lubricating fluids are used which require a high density of the counters mounted in immediate process vicinity. Packaging machines for food item must be wet-cleaned frequently in order to meet the health requirements.

To take advantage of the guided semi-automatic format adjustment in such application cases, too, the SIKO position indicator AP04 is now optionally available with protection class IP65. The stainless steel hollow shaft included in the base unit is very advantageous precisely in such wet applications. For even more extreme ambient conditions, the sister product, AP04S, offers external measuring sensors in protection class IP67.

In order to achieve an ideal price-performance ratio, SIKO GmbH can offer the fitting device version, ranging from protection classes IP53 through IP67, to match customer requirements.
