Now SOLID Safety Light Curtains can also be coupled to AS-i networks

Leuze: Safety sensors with integrated AS-i interface are suitable for direct M12 connection to the yellow AS-i cable. Aptly named “coupling modules” are provided for sensors without this kind of interface – either for contact-related switching signals or for safety semiconductor outputs. With the new ASKM2 safe coupling module, the SOLID 2 and SOLID-4E Safety Light Curtains can now also be easily connected to AS-i networks.

The ASKM2 converts sensor signals into data words and provides these for forwarding via AS interface. Data and energy transferal is performed simultaneously via the unshielded AS-i flat cable. The ASKM1 safe coupling module, by contrast, allows electro-mechanical safety sensors, such as emergency STOP buttons or safety switches, for example, and also Safety Light Curtains with relay outputs, to be connected as usual to the AS interface.
