Supplying the Asian market more quickly – Building work starts on the new production site in China
Pilz GmbH & Co. KG: The automation company Pilz marked the start of building work for its own production site in China with an official ground-breaking ceremony. The new plant will be built in Jintan (Jiangsu province). This base will enable the complete safe automation company to supply its customers in the Asia/Pacific region even more quickly in future.
With production, office and storage areas covering over 9,000 m2, the Chinese plant will be Pilz's first production site outside of Europe. Production is due to start there in the first quarter of 2015.
"The new factory is a key milestone in the history of the Pilz Group. Our commitment in China reflects the ever increasing importance of the Asian market for automation technology". Those were the words of Thomas Pilz, Managing Partner of Pilz GmbH & Co, during the ground-breaking ceremony. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of representatives from Jintan's administration, the companies involved in the plant's design and construction and Rachel Wang, General Manager of Pilz China.
The plant will be built in Jintan, in Jiangsu province in the east of China. The province to the north west of Shanghai is one of the country's most active regions economically.
